We are seeking a Primary Care Physician (Family Practice) for a locum tenens opportunity in Emporia, Virginia. The provider will deliver comprehensive outpatient care to patients of all ages in a well-equipped rural primary care clinic. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, no weekends, and no call responsibilities—ideal for physicians seeking flexibility and work-life balance.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform routine examinations, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Conduct preventive care, including wellness checks, screenings, and immunizations.
• Perform minor in-office procedures (suturing, I&Ds, etc.).
• Document all patient encounters in the Epic EMR system.
• Collaborate with support staff and virtual physicians as needed.
• Maintain quality patient care in compliance with practice and state standards.
Qualifications
• Active Virginia medical license (required at time of submission).
• BLS certification (required).
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.
Working Hours
• No weekends, no call, no inpatient duties.
Skills
• Proficiency in outpatient diagnosis and management.
• Experience with Epic EMR system preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
