Regional Medical Director, Primary Care – Bristol, CT Board Certified in Family Medicine Minimum 5 years Clinical plus Leadership/Administrative Experience Position Summary • Title: Regional Medical Director, Primary Care • Scope: 50% Leadership/Administration, 50% Office-based Outpatient Primary Care • Schedule: Full-time • Teaching: Optional, with potential faculty appointment • Call: Phone call only; averages ~2 call weekends per year and 1 weeknight every 2 months • Compensation & Incentives: Guaranteed base salary, executive incentive plan, loan repayment support, sign-on bonus, relocation assistance ________________________________________ Key Role Details • Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors, APP Leads, and Practice Managers in oversight of clinical operations across Primary Care practices within the region • Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute Primary Care strategy aligned with organizational/system goals • Oversee, administer, and manage physician and APP provider staff • Lead quality monitoring, improvement, and standardization initiatives using available dashboards and infrastructure • Participate in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and onboarding of new provider colleagues ________________________________________ Benefits Package • Paid CME time off plus CME budget; reimbursement for licenses and professional dues • Paid time off plus company holidays • Retirement plan with sizeable employer match • Family care benefits, including emergency back-up care • Voluntary benefits: tuition programs, home/auto/renter’s insurance, identity theft protection, legal services, pet insurance, and more • Optional moonlighting/per diem opportunities in hospital or urgent care settings ________________________________________ Requirements • Unrestricted (or eligible) Connecticut medical license • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine • Minimum 5 years clinical experience plus leadership/administrative experience in Primary Care or multispecialty group • Recognized clinical expertise in field of practice • Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong, strategic business relationships • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities, even in uncertain situations • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Skilled in navigating difficult clinical or interpersonal conversations when needed • Strong financial acumen with ability to connect project outcomes to business and financial results ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications • Board Certified in Family Medicine • Experience and interest in academics and teaching
