Locums to Perm – Family Medicine Physician
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (potential for extended hours)
Positions Available: 4
Type: Locums to Permanent Placement
Position Overview
Family Physician needed to provide full-scope primary care services in a community health center setting. This role includes preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, prescribing medications, coordinating referrals, and working closely with a multidisciplinary care team.
Key Clinical Duties
- Perform physical exams for new and existing patients
- Order and interpret x-rays and lab tests
- Diagnose conditions, interpret results, and implement treatment plans
- Manage and review patient histories and interview data
- Provide full-spectrum family medical care, including preventive medicine and behavioral health
- May assist with OB/GYN, surgical, or critical care procedures based on training and competency
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and care coordination
- Provide education to staff and patients, including first-aid, cardiac life support, and healthcare maintenance
- Potential to teach medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers
- MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign medical school
- If foreign-trained, must hold a current ECFMG certificate
- Completed residency in Family Practice
- Active license to practice medicine in Virginia
- Current DEA registration
- Experience in preventive medicine and community health
- Familiarity with federal/state regulations affecting community health centers
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Team-oriented with ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
