Primary Care Physician – Veterans Care | Canandaigua VA Outpatient Clinic
📍 Location: Canandaigua, NY
💼 Assignment Type: Locum Tenens – Outpatient Primary Care
💰 Compensation: $130/hour + Travel & Lodging Covered
🗓 Period of Performance: ASAP through at least April 2026

About the Opportunity

The Canandaigua VA Outpatient Clinic is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to our nation’s Veterans. This assignment offers consistent hours, a manageable workload, and the opportunity to serve those who served our country.

Role Highlights

  • Outpatient-only schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no weekends or federal holidays)

  • Average patient volume: 12–15 patients per day

  • Veteran population with chronic and acute primary care needs

  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice provided

  • Long-term coverage through April 2026

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine exams, preventive screenings, and follow-up visits

  • Manage chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, CHF, etc.)

  • Document all care in VA’s CPRS system

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care teams using the PACT model

  • Provide patient education, treatment, referral, and follow-up

Qualifications

  • MD or DO, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice

  • Active license in any U.S. state or territory

  • Current DEA registration & BLS/ACLS certification

  • Must pass VA credentialing & background clearance
