Family Medicine Program Director opening in VA Location in Norton, 45m to Kingsport Full Time Position Accepts J1 & H1 Visas A leading health system is seeking a Program Director to lead the next generation of Family Medicine Physicians in their Family Medicine Residency Program. The Program Director will be accountable for the administration and operations of the program, including teaching and scholarly activities, resident recruitment and selection, evaluation and promotion of residents, disciplinary action, supervision of residents, and resident education in patient care. Qualifications: Specialty expertise and at least three (3) years of documented educational and/or administrative experience. Current certification by the ABFM or AOBFM, medical licensure, and eligibility for appropriate medical staff appointment. Ongoing clinical activity. Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team to promote high-quality care, patient safety, and resident well-being. Responsibilities: Be a role model of professionalism. Report accurate and complete information to relevant educational committees. Participate in academic societies and educational programs to enhance educational and administrative skills. Take an active role in curriculum development, resident teaching and evaluation, program improvement, and faculty development. Design and conduct the program according to the community's needs and the institution's missions Promote a learning environment that supports the ACGME competencies. Oversee faculty evaluations and ensure that the program maintains a high standard of supervision and education. Guide and support faculty development and evaluations. Address learning environment issues to meet program standards. Ensure compliance with institutional policies related to grievances, due process, and non-discrimination. Dedicate at least 20 hours per week to administrative and educational activities. Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Core Faculty and other faculty members.
