Amergis Healthcare is hiring a full-time Primary Care Physician (MD) to support the ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term, onsite 1099 contract role within a federal detention facility, offering a unique opportunity to provide direct care and clinical leadership in a mission-driven environment. The physician will collaborate with a team of 7 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), focusing on patient care, chart reviews, and clinical oversight.
Job Responsibilities
Provide direct care to adult and pediatric patients.
Conduct physical exams, manage chronic and acute conditions, and respond to emergencies.
Supervise and collaborate with APPs and clinical staff.
Review and approve referrals, labs, and patient documentation.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
Qualifications
Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Experience in correctional, public health, or underserved settings is a plus.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
