This position is vital in supporting Veterans through non-treatment Compensation and Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Required Skills
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with licensure in good standing.
  • Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine.
  • Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or within the veteran healthcare space is highly desirable.
  • Strong interview and physical assessment capabilities, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Ability to work independently within designated locations and adhere to scheduled shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Prior experience with VA or military-related medical assessments.
  • Certification in related specialties or additional training in veteran health assessments.
  • Familiarity with telehealth tools or remote document submission.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 1-2 years of clinical experience in primary care, internal medicine, or a related field.
  • Proven track record performing Compensation & Pension exams or similar evaluations.

Other Requirements
  • Own a dedicated office space within the specified radius of Juneau, Sitka, or Delta Junction, Alaska.
  • Must have access to reliable internet and medical exam equipment as needed.
  • Willingness to complete required training and administrative follow-up.
  • Able to work on a PRN basis with flexibility for half-day or full-day shifts.
