Blackfeet Community Hospital is looking for long-term contract locum physicians for their Primary-Care Clinic. This government-owned and operated facility offers both inpatient and outpatient services, with all departments led by board-certified or board-eligible chiefs of staff.

Details:

  • Long-term FP MD/DO contract opportunity, up to 1 year with possible extensions
  • Monday- Friday 8am – 5pm
  • No weekends or call
  • Housing provided
  • Local or travel locum tenens welcome to apply
  • Family Medicine experience as an MD required
  • 2–3 years of experience preferred
  • Previous locum tenens and IHS facility experience preferred
  • Board certification in Family Medicine required
  • Must hold a valid U.S. medical license (any state)
  • Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients required

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct exams, order tests, and prescribe medicines or implement treatments
  • We attempt to focus on a higher quality of care rather than a higher quantity of patients, which allows us to see patients on a regular basis and provide comprehensive care
  • Provide primary care services to patients across the lifespan
  • Conduct patient exams
  • Order/interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
  • Prescribe medicine or implement treatments
  • Update patient charts and EMRs

Requirements:

  • Active, Unrestricted Medical License — Must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Montana, any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility — Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM),
  • Active DEA Registration — Required to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Certifications — Must have current certifications in:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Citizenship — Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily within the United States.
  • Experience — A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience is required.
  • Credentialing — Must complete all credentialing requirements within 10 days of offer acceptance.
  • Federal Security Clearance — Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal security clearance process.
