As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you will perform essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, providing vital services to those who have served. Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields
- Proven experience in general medicine, with familiarity in performing exams and assessments
- Strong interviewing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent documentation and report writing abilities
- Commitment to compliance with all applicable laws and standards
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments
- Knowledge of compensation and pension exam processes
- Proficiency with medical documentation portals and electronic health records
- Experience working independently in a mobile or remote setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Current state licensure in Texas or eligibility for licensure
- At least 2 years of clinical practice or relevant assessment experience
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
- Local candidates only; travel will be included in rates
- Ability to perform both half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts
- Completion of required training and exams to qualify for a one-time bonus
- Reliable internet and electronic device for administrative tasks
- Willingness to perform one-time non-treatment exams with minimal physical assessment
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $624.00 (flat rates for exams: $800 for half-day, $1,600 for full-day shifts)
- Bonuses: $650 for completing all training and initial exams
- Benefits include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage, paid sick leave, referral bonuses, and reimbursements for licensure and travel when applicable
