Physician - General Medicine (VA) - Locum Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interview-based Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans.
- Perform physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing as needed.
- Complete reports and addendums promptly, adhering to VA and VES guidelines.
- Maintain professional integrity and ensure thorough documentation throughout each exam.
- Follow established protocols without prescribing medications or providing treatment.
- Coordinate with the VES team to ensure timely completion of assessments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with active state medical license.
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.
- Experience with veteran or disability assessments is preferred.
- Strong interviewing and physical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage schedules effectively.
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience performing Compensation & Pension exams.
- Familiarity with VA procedures and regulations.
- Additional certifications relevant to veteran assessments.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or relevant specialty.
- Prior experience with disability evaluations or related assessments is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- Own and operate a suitable private office location for conducting exams.
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling options (half-day or full-day shifts).
- Availability to start by March 6, 2026.
- Travel costs are included within rates; no reimbursements for certifications or portal training.
