Locum - Physician - General Medicine KY

Join a vital mission to serve our nation's Veterans as a Locum Physician specialized in General Medicine. This unique opportunity offers flexible, part-time engagement conducting Compensation & Pension examinations and Separation Health Assessments across Kentucky. Your expertise will directly impact the lives of Veterans, providing essential evaluations in a fast-paced, respectful setting. Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license in Kentucky with active credentials suitable for internal or family medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields.
  • Experience conducting Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or in a similar assessment role.
  • Strong interviewing skills with the ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Excellent organizational skills for timely report submissions and documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of veterans’ health issues and physical assessment protocols is preferred.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience with government medical assessments or similar VA-related evaluations.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
  • Additional certifications in medical assessments or related fields.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally in primary care or general medicine.
  • Prior experience with compensation and pension exams or military veterans’ health assessments is advantageous.

Other Requirements:
  • Candidates must own and operate their own office within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY.
  • Availability to work on a PRN basis, with flexible scheduling for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
  • Ability to complete exams that are interview-based with some physical assessments, including no prescribing or treatment involved.
  • Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work, including report addendums.
  • Certification in relevant fields and compliance with state, federal, and local healthcare laws.
  • Travel expenses are included in the pay rate; no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training.
