Locum – Physician – General Medicine NY

Embark on a vital role supporting our nation's Veterans as a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine in New York. In this pivotal position, you'll conduct Compensation & Pension examinations and Separation Health Assessments, providing necessary evaluations that directly impact veterans' benefits. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring our Veterans receive the quality care and assessments they deserve, all within a flexible, PRN work environment that fits your schedule.

Required Skills
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related field
  • Valid State Medical License in New York
  • Experience with general medicine, compensation, and pension examinations preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment skills including interview techniques and physical evaluation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with Veterans
  • Ability to complete exams efficiently with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Commitment to adhering to established protocols and ethical standards

Nice to Have Skills
  • Prior experience conducting Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
  • Knowledge of veteran healthcare needs and benefits processes
  • Certification in relevant specialties or additional training in veteran assessments
  • Familiarity with medical documentation and reporting requirements

Preferred Education and Experience
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, ideally in primary care, internal medicine, or occupational health
  • Previous experience with C&P exams or veterans’ healthcare programs is a plus

Other Requirements
  • Own office space in Ithaca, NY (1 day/week) or Trumansburg, NY (3 days/week) to conduct examinations
  • Independent provider with the ability to travel locally as needed
  • Ability to perform interview-based assessments and limited physical evaluations
  • Compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements

Hourly Pay Rate: $624.00
