This position is in Shiprock, NM at Indian Health Service - Outpatients
STATEMENT OF WORK
The Physician shall provide non personal healthcare services in the delivery of patient care to the Indian Health Service. Specific tasks include the following:
The Physician shall provide Public Health Provider, Outpatient Medical Evaluation and Treatment non personal services agreement as a Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor in a home and community setting with the following specifications:
- Physician will participate directly in the medical care of the patients, performing functions to the extent delineated by the medical staff privileging process.
- Physician will adhere to the scope of work and accept work assignment from the Clinical Director as necessary.
- Physician will provide direct care/services to pediatric, geriatric, adolescent and adult patients: Patient care will involve contact with outpatient COVID patients in the urgent care setting, as well as other potential infectious contacts expectable in an healthcare clinic
- Physician will provide comprehensive therapeutic and preventative health services to individual COVID Positive patients, family members and patient groups in a home or community based setting as a primary health resource and physician extender. Service to including guidance in monitoring oxygen levels, adherence to medication regimen, monitoring of oval COVID symptoms. Services to also include Emergency medical treatment.
- Physician will assess and diagnose needs to produce a plan of action to meet identified needs by providing medical health services to individual and families, and interpretations of x-ray imaging results and laboratory test results and findings.
- Physician will apply Medical Doctor skills in all phases of health care services.
- Physician will assist with community outreach activity in the local area
- Physician will make decisions concerning medical care needs of patients with physicians and designated consultants.
- Physician will provide lifesaving and support measures in emergency situations.
- Physician will work with appropriate staff, outer agencies and accepting facilities to medically stabilize and coordinate appropriate urgent and emergent transfers to facilities with a higher level of care.
- Contract shall provide thorough and concise written documentation of evaluations, treatment, active orders, medications and referrals through the Electronic Health Record in a timely manner in accordance to the MSU HIM Internal Control policy. Record keeping, release of information and patient confidentiality are in compliance with HIPPA Guidelines.
- Physician shall participates in Quality Assurance/Risk Management activities of the hospital and peer review functions.
- Physician shall have knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) technique, usage and disposal for infectious control purposes.
- Physician will adhere to guidelines as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Physician must maintain credentialing and privileges at MSU.
- Physician shall only be compensated at the agreed contract amount based on invoices submitted and only for services in direct performance of this contract.
- Training and training expenses are not covered by this contract, unless it is included as; training required by IHS for new Technology or as requirement of the IHS and IHS itself has not had the required training to carry out its mission.
- The contract terms and conditions does not allow for accrual of annual or sick leave or other fringe benefits.
- Overtime compensation is not authorized in this contract.
PHYSICIAN QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
o Physician will maintain active license as a Medical Doctor in this state or any other state of the United States of America throughout the duration of this contract.
o Physician will possess and maintain Board Certification or be Board Eligible throughout the duration of this contract.
o Physician must maintain credentialing and privileges at Mescalero Service Unit
o Maintain confidentiality of patient care records
o Possess, maintain and able to provide proof of Medical
