Family Practice OR Internal Medicine Physician New Rochelle, NY
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician with Sports Med/Ortho experience to join our practice full time in New Rochelle, NY. The incoming physician will be examining patients that need to undergo physical therapy and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures. The incoming physician will be splitting coverage between the offices in Tremont and New Rochelle.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician with Sports Med/Ortho experience to join our practice full time in New Rochelle, NY. The incoming physician will be examining patients that need to undergo physical therapy and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures. The incoming physician will be splitting coverage between the offices in Tremont and New Rochelle.
Duties:
- Examining patients that need to undergo physical therapy.
- Diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
- Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Recommending and undertaking various medical procedures, such as disc decompression, prolotherapy, and vertebroplasty to treat pain and improve physical functioning.
- Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists and occupational therapists, to optimize patient care.
- Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
- Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
- Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
- Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
- Conducting research on injuries, diseases, and disabling conditions to improve and advance treatments.
- Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine patient’s need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.
- Initiate’s prescriptions to be followed by the appropriate therapy units, and modifies that prescription as indicated by the patient’s response to therapy and his/her medical condition.
- Conducts periodic re-evaluations of each patient to determine progress and indication for change or discontinuance of treatment.
- Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.
- Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress.
- Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e. physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., to facilitate patient care and patient referrals
- MD/DO licensed in NY
- BCBE in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with extensive Sports Medicine/Ortho based conditions or injuries
