**Family Medicine Opening in New York** -Located in Plattsburgh, NY. -Full Time & Permanent Position. This community-based, university-affiliated program is located in Plattsburgh, NY. We are searching for two additional Core Faculty physicians to join our expanding program. The positions are 60% administrative (including precepting of residents) and 40% clinical. Administrative time would focus on administration of the residency program and curriculum development. One of positions is for a DO to lead the osteopathic curriculum. The program hopes to apply for osteopathic recognition. Performing OMT would be a plus. This physician must be a DO however the other physician can be an MD or a DO. The mission of the program is to train physicians to excel in the leadership of high-quality and high value, patient centered care for people of all ages in their communities. We are very fortunate to be partnered with the University of Vermont as our program grows and expands. The providers consist of 7 primary care physicians, 18 residents and 3 primary care advanced practitioners. In addition we have an Ob/Gyn physician , an infectious disease physician, an infectious disease nurse practitioner, and a podiatrist that round out the team. Our current practice sees approximately 19,000 patients annually. We see approximately 120 patients daily from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings. Our payer mix is: 38% Medicaid, 32% Medicare and 30% Other. **About the Community** Plattsburgh is a picturesque community of 38,000 located on Lake Champlain (6th largest lake in the country) and at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. It is one of the prime gateways between the US and Canada. You can readily travel in and out of Plattsburgh by highway, train, plane or boat. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, this is the place to be. Water, mountains, parks, beaches and trails are right at your fingertips. You will also find plenty of apple orchards, vineyards and microbreweries along our roadways. You will often hear residents boast about living where others vacation!
