Start/End Date: Soon as credentialed – 3 months with the option to extend.
Schedule: Full-Time Mon – Fri 8a-5p, 1 hour lunch break daily. No weekends, no holidays.
Call: Lunch call coverage is required once per month. 1 hour per month

Procedures
- Hospitalizations: Acute, Adult, Inpatient wards, male and female
- Demographics: Forensic, NGRI, Civil, Jail Transfer, and Geriatric populations
- Facility stay: Short and long-term length of stay
- Psychiatry coverage is provided.
- • Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient populations.
• Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner.
• Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders.
• Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures.
• Monitors patients’ progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed. - • Consult with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status.
• Collaborates with attending psychiatric practitioner if needed providing DSM-5 Diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessment.
• Provides coverage to the medical clinic, and the admission suit to ensure the admission process is completed.
• Prescribes medications at the lowest effective dose in accordance with rational clinical practices. Assesses and addresses medication side effects and reports adverse drug reactions.
• Ensures timely and quality documentation (admissions, follow-up annual, etc.) in patient records in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
Requirements
- 3+ more years as a Physician/Practitioner
• Experience working with adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult and geriatric populations.
• Comfortable working on admissions workup and potential rapid turnover
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required
