We are a Family Medicine Family taking care of individuals and families, in sickness and health, in healing and wellbeing.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Practices as a Personal Physician

  • Supports and educates patients and/or families as to the nature of disease, provides instruction on proper care, self-management and treatment, and works with patient to develop a personalized, individualized care plan that incorporates the person’s priorities, their circumstances and community, and high-quality, evidence-based medicine
  • Maintains strict confidentiality, and treats staff, physicians, visitors and patients with dignity and respect

Medical care:

  • Performs medical examinations using standard medical procedures as part of the clinical Care Team
  • Observes, assesses and records symptoms, reactions and progress in patient charts
  • Demonstrates knowledge of primary care principles and practice protocols, including standing orders
  • Demonstrates the ability to remain calm, effective, and establish a leadership role in an emergency
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches in primary care
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of medications, with their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects and correct administration

Practices as a Physician leading a Care Team

  • Facilitate and participate in care management, consultation, and collaboration with the team of integrated care, behavioral health clinicians, health coaches, and clinical pharmacy, community-based organizations, and care coordinator on a regular basis
  • Organizes, prioritizes and schedules office tasks and/or appointments daily in a “Huddle” with the medical assistant, and others as necessary
  • Participates in quality improvement of clinical quality outcomes

Practices as a Physician involved in Evaluation and Practice-based research

  • Participates in practice-based research at the clinic and through ART2/CCPCI; learns concepts followed by application into Family Medicine daily practice, and involvement in program evaluation towards all aspects of the quadruple aim.

Operational Expectations and Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care 4 days/week (32 hours/week)
  • On a monthly basis, generate income such that provider-allocated medical overhead is covered.
  • Complete charting for patient visits preferably on the same day as the patient encounter. Notes must be completed with 2 days of the encounter. o Ex. Friday charts to be completed by 11:59pm Sunday; Monday charts to be completed by Wednesday 11:59pm.
  • If a provider has approved PTO or CME time, the provider will proactively prepare for being out of the clinic by completing all notes and reviewing labs prior to the time out of the clinic.
  • Non-urgent correspondence from medical assistants, front office, billing, or other support staff related to patient care is to be reviewed and responded to within 2-3 days.
  • Review urgent documents within 1 week and labs within 2 days. Complete final review in EHR within 2 weeks for remaining documents.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively orally and in writing with patients, staff, providers, and outside customers and/or vendors

Physical Abilities:

  • Stand for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch
  • Have full range of body motion
  • Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a keyboard, telephone, calculator and medical equipment
  • Have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports; specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally relocate to other locations
  • Maintain a current and valid driver’s license

Work environment:
The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. The position may cause frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.

All Employees of Westminster Medical Clinic are to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and maintain vaccination status to be eligible for continued employment.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in Family Medicine practice
  • Current Family Medicine Board certification
  • Practice license and DEA license in the State of CO
  • Graduation from an accredited physician residency program
  • Experience in practice-based research or medical directorship a plus.

Hours and Meetings:
Patient Care Schedule is based on needs at WMC, and Team assignment
Rotating weekend call and after-hours care every 8th week
Regularly scheduled monthly meetings on the 1st/4th Thursdays 12:30-2pm

Compensation:

$188,000-$205,000, depending on years of experience​
