Community:

Fort Kent is minutes from the International Border of Maine and Canada, nestled in the middle of the St. John Valley in Aroostook County, "The Crown of Maine”. The area is home to some of the finest outdoor activities in the state and possibly the country. Snowshoeing, Cross Country and Down Hill Skiing, and Snowmobiling on thousands of miles of pristine trail systems make up a list of some of the activities available during the Winter months. Spring, Summer, and Fall you can enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and spending time on the many lakes and rivers canoeing, boating, and swimming. During the Summer, nearly every mile of snowmobile trail is converted into beautiful ATV, walking, and biking trails, expanding your outdoor activities to 12 full months. While these highlights are only a piece of what the area has to offer, community spirit and local culture are what keep people here and keep people coming back. The strong Acadian heritage and culture in the area go hand in hand with our mission of caring for and helping others, which is evident in everyone you meet.
