**Family Medicine opening - Oneonta, NY** *Gender Wellness* **Position Details** - Full-time, permanent - Hospital employed - Progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University - Group has been offering high quality, evidence-based primary care in Oneonta since 1994. - In 2007, Medical Group began embedding transgender (TG) healthcare into primary care practice. - From 2016-19, members of our interdisciplinary team received leadership training from the RWJ Foundation to create a rural-based center of excellence in TG health - Group has served over 1200 transgender/gender diverse (TGD) youth and adults. - Patient population is roughly ¼ TGD patients and ¾ cisgender patients. - Group has developed an active teaching program in TGD health for healthcare professional students, participate in community-based research projects and continually expand/refine programming that supports the mission and vision of the practice. **Job Summary** - Established group of 4 FM Practitioners and 3 Mental Health providers in a unique outpatient practice to provide primary care for cisgender and TGD youth and adults across the lifespan. **Responsibilities** - Monday Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. - A first call system is in place with an NP/PA on call for your patients - Provide evidence-based, quality primary care to cisgender and TGD youth and adults - Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, teaching, and team program development - Engage in efforts to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in healthcare - Practice cultural responsiveness and cultural humility - Provision of PrEP, PEP, gender-affirming hormone therapy, including puberty blockers (we will train/mentor), referrals for gender-affirming surgery within and outside the network. - EMR-EPIC **Job Qualifications:** - MD or DO, BE/BC - NYS Licensure, ACLS/PALS - Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills - Leadership skills, commitment to LGBTQ+ healthcare, and interdisciplinary teamwork - Employs principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in clinical practice **Benefits** - Medical, dental and vision insurance - Paid time off, including vacations and holidays - Life Insurance and disability protections - Paid Malpractice - Retirement Benefits - CME time and money - Moving Allowance **About the Health Network:** - Rural integrated health care system that serves communities through an eight county region, covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. - The network includes a Primary Hospital that is Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, a secondary Hospital, and three critical access hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school- based health centers, and health partners in related fields. - This is a safe, vibrant and sophisticated upstate community set in a bucolic lake front village affording four seasons of cultural and outdoor activity.
