Job Description

A Houston based client is seeking an experienced, collaborative family practice physician or physician assistant to join its primary care team. An ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English and works well in an interdisciplinary team. This role involves providing primary care services to a community in an outpatient setting to mostly adults and to a 70% Hispanic population.

Required Qualifications

• Attended an accredited medical school with a MD/DO or PA degree
• Completed an accredited residency program
• DEA certificate
• Board certification or eligible in internal medicine or family medicine
• BLS certification
• 1-2 years of experience as a primary care provider
• Medical Spanish required for family practitioner/physician
• Fluency in Spanish for PA

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health by performing physical examinations and taking patient history
• Order diagnostic tests and laboratory studies, interpret results and create treatment plans based on results
• Perform therapeutic procedures, manage wounds and injuries, and educate patients on their treatment plans
• Arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services for patients on caseload
• Document all patient encounters efficiently and according to organization policy
• Assist with utilization review, quality assurance, and risk management programs
