Job Description

A Vero Beach, Florida based client is seeking an excellent General Practitioner to provide general medicine to adult patients at a nonprofit community health center. An ideal candidate is collaborative, communicative, a leader, and is experienced in providing care to adult patients. This role may involve occasional coverage at other clinics. It is highly desirable to speak Spanish, Creole, or both in this role.

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
• Current Florida medical license
• Completed an accredited residency program
• DEA certificate
• Board certified in primary care or infectious disease
• CPR certification
• Minimum of 3 years of medical practice and 1 year of supervision experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish and/or Creole
• Knowledge of HEDIS quality indicators

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose a variety of diseases and injuries in adults who mostly have Medicare insurance
• Manage acute and chronic conditions
• Order diagnostic tests and laboratory studies, interpret results and create treatment plans based on results
• Perform therapeutic procedures, manage wounds and injuries, and educate patients on their treatment plans
• Arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services for patients on caseload
• Document all patient encounters efficiently and according to policy
