A Nebraska Critical Access Hospital is seeking a Family Practice Physician with OB experience to cover a maternity leave, with the potential for a longer-term assignment due to another provider out for medical reasons.

Position Overview

• Family Practice physician with OB call
• Mix of ED coverage, hospitalist duties, and rotation between primary and secondary ER call
• Call taken from home (not in-house)
• Call shifts are 24 hours and provider will cover ED and OB call
• Blocked schedule: approximately 5–8 days per month

ED & Clinic Volumes

• ED: Average 7–8 patients per day
• Inpatient rounding: Swing + skilled averages 4–7 patients per day
• Clinic (optional):
  • 2–3 clinic shifts per block
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Acute illness focus
  • ~20 patients per day

OB & Trauma Responsibilities

• Physician responds to all OB, codes, and trauma coming through the ED
• Rural trauma exposure from ranching/farming injuries and major highways

Hospital & Support

• Critical Access Hospital
• Fully staffed with 4.5 Family Practice physicians
• EMR: Meditech
• CRNA always on call for anesthesia
• General surgeon onsite 1–2 weeks per month (available to assist when in town)
• TelePsych, TeleNeuro, and TeleStroke services
• Ground and air transport available as needed
• Facility has ED PA’s that rotate to take ED Call
• 30-minute call response time (providers often arrive sooner)
