We are seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Family Medicine Physician to provide high-quality, patient-centered care at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Texas. This assignment offers the opportunity to serve a diverse community while working as part of a collaborative, mission-driven clinical team.
Assignment Overview
The locum physician will examine, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, providing comprehensive primary care across the lifespan. The role includes preventive care, health education, and coordination of specialty referrals when needed.

Job Responsibilities
Perform focused to comprehensive patient assessments based on clinical setting
Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and complex medical conditions in adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
Provide prenatal care for uncomplicated obstetric patients (No OB rounding)
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests; adjust treatment plans as needed
Prescribe medications in accordance with Texas statutes and professional practice guidelines
Administer immunizations and provide preventive health counseling
Educate patients on disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and health maintenance
Perform in-scope diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to:
Venipuncture and injections (IM, SQ, ID)
EKGs
CPR
Vision and hearing screenings
Wound care and aseptic techniques
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation; close charts within 48 hours or by the end of the serviced week
Utilize ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding; participate in training as needed
Refer patients to specialists and coordinate care appropriately
Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and compliance activities
Collaborate with the clinical care team and Medical Director
Participate in community health events, screenings, and education initiatives as requested
Comply with all FQHC regulations, policies, and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the organization’s mission, vision, and values
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency
Board Certified by ABFM or AOBFM
Minimum 3 years of Family Medicine experience preferred
Active and unrestricted Texas Medical License
Current DEA registration
Experience in outpatient clinic and/or hospital settings
Community health or FQHC experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of Texas mandated reporting laws
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse patient populations
Must maintain CME requirements for Texas licensure and board certification
COVID-19 vaccination required
