Position: Locum-to-Perm, Family Medicine Physician w/ OB

Job Type: In-patient and Out-patient Coverage, Clinic and Hospital

Location: Mt. Shasta, CA

Start/End Dates: ASAP-Ongoing

About the Facility:

Our client is nestled at the base of Mt. Shasta. It is a 25-bed, critical access hospital, level III trauma center, with three rural health clinics and a new ED, servicing roughly 17,000 locals.

Job Details:

Admissions per day: clinic-based provider with 0-1 hospital admission
Patients/day: in the clinic, they would see about 15- 17 patients a day in the clinic
Types of cases: a variety of Family Practice and OB types of cases
Number of deliveries: 94 a year C-sections: approx. 40/year
NICU level: no, it is 50 mins away in Redding, Redding is a LVL 3
In house anesthesia? 15 min call response time
EMR: Cerner
Support staff: Supervisor, MA, clerks
Volume of deliveries: 10-15 a month. May increase slightly as the hospital north of site just lost a couple of their docs.

Job Responsibilities

Locums will not be responsible for supervising healthcare providers
Patient Type- Female, all adult ages, pregnancies, well women, GYN problems

Qualifications

Requirements:
Active/Unrestricted California MD/DO License
OB Fellowship
Active DEA
BC/BE
ACLS and PALS Certifications
Updated CV with mm/yyyy format
Clean malpractice/background history
Covid-19 vaccination
*Must be qualified to handle c-sections*

Working Hours

4 -10 hour shift in clinic a week and OB/pediatric on call. 1:4 hospital coverage

Schedule: 1-2 weeks of Hospital OB Call each month and 4-8 days in the Clinic for General GYN patients (consecutive)
