Job description Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Medical Director provides overall clinical leadership and medical oversight for participant care within the PACE program. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes, overseeing the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, and leading the development and maintenance of medical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.

The Medical Director supervises Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for new participants and perform event-based and periodic reassessments
Develop and oversee individualized medical treatment plans across all care settings
Participate in the intake and eligibility assessment process for prospective participants
Discuss diagnoses, prognosis, and care planning with participants and caregivers
Supervise and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in developing and executing care plans
Lead and oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
Establish and maintain medical policies, standards, and clinical protocols
Provide supervision and clinical direction to PCPs and APPs
Participate in team and family conferences
Educate participants and families regarding chronic disease management and health maintenance
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
Participate in provider on-call rotation as required
Contribute to operational and strategic goals as part of the leadership team

Requirements:
Active License in MA
Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
DEA Registration
Minimum one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population
Previous supervisory experience
