💻 Remote during locums' phase | Hybrid model if converted to perm

🕘 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8am–5pm
📆 Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with expectation of transition to permanent role)

🌟 About the Role

Are you a dedicated Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with strong managed care experience and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care? This Associate Medical Director role offers the opportunity to support clinical operations, utilization management, and quality initiatives — while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across a health plan population.

This role is fully remote during the locum phase and transitions to a hybrid schedule upon permanent placement.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

✔ Review prior authorization & appeals requests
✔ Conduct peer-to-peer consultations
✔ Provide oversight for utilization, quality & disease management programs
✔ Assist in pharmacy program oversight & coordination of care
✔ Support fraud, waste & abuse program oversight
✔ Analyze provider performance & participate in committee review
✔ Assist in development of clinical policies & guidelines
✔ Participate in organizational planning, education & outreach initiatives
✔ Support continuous workflow & process improvement

🔑 Required Skills & Qualifications

🔹 Board Certification in Family Medicine (no exceptions)
🔹 Texas medical license (or willingness to obtain)
🔹 Experience in managed care & prior authorization
🔹 Understanding of Texas Medicaid regulations
🔹 Experience overseeing multidisciplinary care teams
🔹 Strong leadership, communication & organizational abilities
🔹 Ability to manage confidential information & remain calm under pressure
