🌟 About the Role

Are you a dedicated Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with strong managed care experience and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care? This Associate Medical Director role offers the opportunity to support clinical operations, utilization management, and quality initiatives β€” while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across a health plan population.

This role is fully remote during the locum phase and transitions to a hybrid schedule upon permanent placement.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

βœ” Review prior authorization & appeals requests
βœ” Conduct peer-to-peer consultations
βœ” Provide oversight for utilization, quality & disease management programs
βœ” Assist in pharmacy program oversight & coordination of care
βœ” Support fraud, waste & abuse program oversight
βœ” Analyze provider performance & participate in committee review
βœ” Assist in development of clinical policies & guidelines
βœ” Participate in organizational planning, education & outreach initiatives
βœ” Support continuous workflow & process improvement

πŸ”‘ Required Skills & Qualifications

πŸ”Ή Board Certification in Family Medicine (no exceptions)
πŸ”Ή Texas medical license (or willingness to obtain)
πŸ”Ή Experience in managed care & prior authorization
πŸ”Ή Understanding of Texas Medicaid regulations
πŸ”Ή Experience overseeing multidisciplinary care teams
πŸ”Ή Strong leadership, communication & organizational abilities
πŸ”Ή Ability to manage confidential information & remain calm under pressure
