Job Overview – Primary Care Physician (Family or Internal Medicine):
Compensation: $130 – $156/hour
Location: Westmoreland County, VA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Primary Care Physician (Family or Internal Medicine) in Westmoreland County, VA for our client. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive outpatient care, perform examinations and diagnostic evaluations, manage acute and chronic conditions, and provide preventive services. You will also document in the EHR, support care coordination, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered practice model.

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Primary Care Physician (Family or Internal Medicine) in Westmoreland County, VA for our client. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive outpatient care, perform examinations and diagnostic evaluations, manage acute and chronic conditions, and provide preventive services. You will also document in the EHR, support care coordination, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered practice model.
Responsibilities as the Primary Care Physician:
- Primary Care Delivery: Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for patients across the lifespan with evidence-based practice.
- Diagnostic & Treatment Planning: Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies, develop treatment plans, and perform minor procedures when clinically appropriate.
- Medication & Care Management: Prescribe medications, educate patients on treatment plans, and coordinate referrals to specialists to support continuity of care.
- Clinical Leadership & Quality: Lead and support clinical staff in maintaining a patient-centered medical home model while participating in quality assurance and compliance initiatives.
- EHR Documentation & On-Call Duties: Complete accurate and timely documentation, coding, and billing in the EHR and provide after-hours coverage on a rotating schedule.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution; successful completion of a residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required.
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license required (DEA registration preferred or ability to obtain.).
- Experience: 3-5 years of primary care experience in outpatient settings, with demonstrated competency in managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong understanding of documentation, coding, and billing workflows.
- Industry Knowledge: Broad understanding of comprehensive primary care, preventive health, chronic disease management, and patient-centered clinical models.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, a patient-focused approach, professionalism under pressure, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Additional Requirements: Commitment to confidentiality, ability to manage difficult patient interactions, and willingness to participate in occasional after-hours or on-call coverage.
