Exciting Opportunity: Locum Physician in Geriatric Medicine

This facility is part of a statewide Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) model, designed to provide comprehensive care while allowing older adults to maintain their independence in their community. The focus is on delivering all necessary medical and supportive services to a population that values personal growth and professional advancement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments for new participants and perform periodic reassessments.
  • Develop and implement tailored medical treatment plans for participants.
  • Engage with participants and caregivers to discuss medical conditions and future care planning.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to enhance participant care and treatment programs.
  • Participate in intake assessments and decision-making processes for new applicants to the organization.
  • Educate families and participants on health maintenance and chronic medical conditions.
  • Supervise and direct health care treatment programs as developed by the care team.
  • Perform physical examinations and order necessary diagnostic tests, systematically documenting results.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Manage changing priorities to align with participant needs effectively.

Qualifications

  • Current and active plenary physician license to practice in Massachusetts.
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice is a must; Certification in Geriatrics is preferred.
  • Experience or added qualifications in geriatrics are highly regarded.
  • Active DEA Registration.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Minimum of one year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • NPDB self-query report (must be pulled within the last month or 90 days).

License and Certification Requirements

  • Current and active plenary physician license in Massachusetts (required).
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice (required).
  • DEA Registration (required).
