Position Overview

An established healthcare organization in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Director – Geriatric Medicine to lead its Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to serve seniors with chronic care needs, providing comprehensive medical oversight and guiding an interdisciplinary team focused on community-based care, independence, and quality of life.

The Medical Director will play a key role in ensuring excellence in participant care, quality outcomes, and the development of medical policies and standards for this innovative model of elder care.

Assignment Details

  • Schedule: Full-time, daytime hours (Monday–Friday)

  • Call Requirements: Participates in provider on-call rotation as needed

  • Weekend Requirements: Occasional, based on program needs

  • Supervision: Reports to the Executive Director; provides direction to Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

  • Setting: Community-based senior care (PACE model)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct history and physical exams for new and existing participants

  • Develop and oversee medical treatment plans

  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care

  • Educate participants and families on health maintenance and chronic disease management

  • Participate in intake, assessment, and care conferences

  • Supervise healthcare providers and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

  • Develop and maintain medical policies, protocols, and standards of care

  • Engage in leadership activities to help achieve operational goals

Requirements

Current and active Massachusetts medical license
Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice (Geriatrics preferred)
DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR/CDS)
Previous supervisory experience (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience with a frail or elderly population
Demonstrated skills in chronic disease management and geriatric assessment
Strong commitment to person-centered, community-based care
