Job description
A General Medicine Physician is needed on a PRN basis to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments. These are non-treatment, evaluation-focused exams conducted for veterans and transitioning service members. The position offers flexible scheduling with half-day or full-day options, quick credentialing, and a one-time training completion bonus.
Job Responsibilities
Perform interview-based evaluations with limited physical assessments (e.g., range of motion, muscle strength testing).
Document findings accurately and completely using required systems.
Complete follow-up administrative work (addendums, opinions, diagnostic reviews).
Maintain professional, respectful interactions with veterans during examinations.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted medical license.
Must complete Disability Medical Assessment (DMA) training to become certified.
Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
Own a laptop (no Mac/Apple products).
AANP certification accepted.
Clean malpractice and background history.
Working Hours
Option of half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours).
Weekend availability preferred, but not required.
Skills
Familiarity with VA disability exams and reporting requirements.
Accuracy in medical documentation and compliance with standards.
Ability to work independently in office-based settings.
Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
