Job description Rise Community Hospital, a growing micro-hospital located in the heart of Prairieville, LA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our dynamic team, must be comfortable seeing ER patients. Rise Community Hospital is committed to serving the needs of Prairieville and surrounding Ascension Parish communities. As one of the region’s few micro-hospitals, we offer a unique setting where physicians have time to focus on patients and practice medicine in a meaningful, impactful way.

Job Responsibilities

Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a 24/7 emergency department

Collaborate closely with nursing, lab, radiology, and support staff

Lead resuscitative efforts and stabilize critical patients for transfer when needed

Utilize EMR for timely and accurate documentation

Participate in quality improvement and peer review processes

Qualifications

MD or DO with board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with ER experience

Active Louisiana medical license (or ability to obtain)

ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required

Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Working Hours

24-hour physician coverage model (typically 24-hour shifts)

Skills

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with proven emergency care experience

Current Louisiana Medical License (or the ability to obtain one prior to start date)

Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and ATLS (required for all providers treating emergency patients)

Proficiency in emergency procedures including intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and basic wound care

Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure

Excellent communication skills for clear, respectful interaction with patients, families, nurses, and support staff

Familiarity with EMR systems and ability to document efficiently and accurately

Adaptability to a micro-hospital environment with low to moderate patient volumes and a collaborative, team-oriented culture

Commitment to quality care and adherence to best practice protocols and evidence-based medicine

Compassionate bedside manner with a community-focused approach to healthcare delivery
