Join Our Team as a Medical Director in Geriatric Medicine

We are excited to offer a full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with Fellowship training or a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. This position will serve as the Medical Director for a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) located in the beautiful city of Mishawaka, Indiana. Here, you'll have the chance to provide compassionate care to elderly patients while being part of a collaborative and innovative team in a supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Executive Director, provide general medical direction and supervision of participant care.
  • Ensure delivery of participant care, clinical outcomes, and oversight of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.
  • Lead and supervise related Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Conduct history and physical exams on new participants and reassess as needed.
  • Participate in team and family conferences to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Educate participants and families on health maintenance and chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate in the nursing treatment programs for participants.
  • Maintain a plan to achieve operating goals as part of the leadership team.
  • Participate in provider on-call rotation as required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with the frail or elderly population is required.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (REQUIRED).
  • Board Certified in Geriatrics (Fellowship-trained) or Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine (HIGHLY PREFERRED).
  • Active Indiana license or willingness to obtain (REQUIRED).
  • Clean malpractice history (HIGHLY PREFERRED).
  • Current NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) (REQUIRED).
  • CDS Certification by the time of start (REQUIRED).
  • DEA Verbal Confirmation by the time of start (REQUIRED).
  • BLS certification by the time of start (REQUIRED).
  • Supervisory experience (REQUIRED).

License and Certification Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Indiana medical license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current CDS and DEA certifications.
  • BLS certification.
