Associate Center Clinical Director – Newport News, VA

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

Make a Meaningful Impact in Senior Primary Care

Join a purpose-driven team transforming healthcare for older adults. As an Associate Center Clinical Director, you’ll lead a team of dedicated Primary Care Providers (PCPs) while also delivering hands-on care. This hybrid leadership role is ideal for a compassionate, strategic physician who thrives in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

You’ll be responsible for driving clinical excellence, improving outcomes, and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability. Your leadership will directly influence the health and satisfaction of both patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Mentor: Supervise, coach, and develop PCPs to ensure high-quality, value-based care.
  • Deliver Care: Provide direct patient care based on center needs, balancing clinical and leadership duties.
  • Team Leadership: Guide interdisciplinary care teams, including medical assistants, care coordinators, and facilitators.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with hospitalists, specialists, and transitional care teams to ensure seamless care across settings.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner with Center Operations and Market Leadership to improve clinical performance, financial outcomes, and patient membership growth.
  • Culture Building: Champion a positive, high-performing clinical culture through weekly Super Huddles, Transforming Care Meetings, and leadership rounding.
  • Center Support: Step in for clinical leadership as needed, monitor daily census, and support provider and patient recruitment efforts.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty.
  • Licensure: Active medical license in Louisiana and current DEA registration for Schedule II–V substances.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in a relevant specialty.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in adult or geriatric care; leadership experience preferred.
  • Training: Completion of ChenMed leadership development programs (e.g., Masterful Conversations, meeting facilitation).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Why Join Us?

At the heart of our model is a commitment to value-based care, team collaboration, and patient-first outcomes. As a Clinical Director, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of primary care while making a lasting difference in the lives of your patients and your team.
