Endocrinologist needed to serve the region of northeastern Connecticut.

The incoming candidate will build this service line for the healthcare system. This position offers complete autonomy to build this program as you determine. Historically, the Endocrinology needs of patients have been managed by the primary care providers, or the patients have been referred out. The focus of the service line will be General Endocrinology, and the health system would like to create a Diabetes Center for Northeast Connecticut as well. Additionally, the incoming candidate can have the ability to sub specialize within endocrinology based upon their interests.

As the program builds, the expectation is that the incoming candidate will serve as the Program Director for Endocrinology. The system will hire extenders and support staff as needed to accommodate the volume and the service offerings of the program. The system would expect to utilize the partnership with Yale University/New Haven Health to help to support and expedite the growth of the service line. The incoming candidate can have an Academic Appointment with Yale New Haven if desired.

The current primary care base within the community (both Medical Group as well as independent providers) will be extremely supportive of the development of the endocrinology service. There is not another Endocrinologist within this service area (110K residents).

32 Clinical hours per week with 4 administrative hours for program development
