Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified (or Board-Eligible) Endocrinologist to provide full-time coverage at an established practice in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This is a stable outpatient-focused locums role with a consistent patient panel, occasional inpatient consults, and minimal call burden.

Schedule & Coverage

• Full-Time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• First patient at 8:20 AM

• Call coverage: possible once every 3–4 months (details during interview)

• May be asked to assist in monitoring in-baskets

• Contract length: 6 months

• Credentialing: ~120 days (VA license in hand strongly preferred)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Outpatient endocrine care – 18–20 patients per day

  • 20 min follow-ups

  • 40 min new patient visits

• Inpatient consults when on call

• Manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes patients, including insulin pumps

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of endocrine disorders

• Collaborate with Diabetes Education & Nutrition Counseling program

• Support adult-only patient panel

Requirements

• MD/DO

• Board Certified / Eligible in Endocrinology

• Active VA license strongly preferred (no licensing support)

• AHA Certifications required (BLS/ACLS)

• DEA required

• Minimum 1 year of endocrinology experience
