Job description
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Endocrinologist (MD/DO) for a 6-month outpatient locum tenens opportunity in Bellingham, Washington. The provider will work alongside a section lead Endocrinologist and PA, providing care to patients aged 16 and older in a clinic setting. This is a Monday–Friday role with standard 8-hour daytime shifts and no after-hours call responsibilities beyond answering service pager coverage during business hours. There is no inpatient rounding or admissions. A Washington state medical license is required at time of submission.
Job Responsibilities
Manage common and complex endocrine conditions (e.g., diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal issues, osteoporosis, etc.)
Collaborate with the clinic’s section lead Endocrinologist and PA
Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and communication
Respond to business-hours answering service pager inquiries
Ensure continuity and quality of care during the 6-month coverage period
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
Previous outpatient endocrinology experience preferred
Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
Must be eligible to enroll with payers
Strong communication and organizational skills
Working Hours
8-hour clinic days (no overtime approved)
No evening, weekend, or inpatient call
6-month assignment duration
Skills
Familiarity with Epic EMR
Professional bedside manner and strong patient communication
Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams
Able to maintain productivity with 12–16 patients per day
