Position Overview:
A leading academic medical center in Ohio is seeking an accomplished physician to serve as Chief of Endocrinology. This is a unique opportunity to lead a highly engaged academic division with strong research initiatives and a meaningful clinical mission in one of the state's most diverse and underserved communities.
The incoming Chief will provide strategic leadership across clinical care, academic training, and translational research -- particularly in diabetes and endocrine-related clinical trials. Ideal candidates will hold a professor-level appointment and bring recent experience in both clinical practice and academic leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a division of 5 - 6 bench researchers (including 2 on active grants) and several advanced practice providers (PAs)
Oversee clinical operations, research programs, and education for fellows, residents, and students
Maintain a hybrid schedule: 3 - 4 days/week in outpatient care (half-day clinics) with remaining time for research, plus 1 administrative day
Inpatient duties shared among 5 attendings, totaling 10 - 12 weeks/year across two hospitals
Serve as a mentor and leader, advancing clinical excellence and academic development
Outpatient volume: 9 - 10 patients per half-day, with new visits at 40 minutes and follow-ups at 20
Research Focus:
Lead research initiatives in diabetes and endocrine disease, including clinical trial management
Promote both independent and collaborative research across the academic health system
Ideal Candidate:
Mid-career academic physician with 3 - 5+ years of leadership, ideally at the Professor level
Experience in both academic and clinical environments
Track record of peer-reviewed publications; independent research experience preferred
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (visa sponsorship not available)

Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary around $300,000 (with clinical + academic income streams)
$8,500 relocation reimbursement
Pension contributions up to 75% of annual clinical salary

Academic appointment and leadership support provided
Onsite interview includes a 2 - 3 day itinerary with full reimbursement, formal dinner, and faculty meetings
