**Endocrinology opening in Cedar Rapids, Iowa**
Located 27 miles from Iowa City
H1 and J1 Visa Eligible
**Position Details:**
- Full-time, permanent position
- Established team of 2 physicians and 2 Advanced Practitioners
- Diabetes Self-Management program staffed with Certified Diabetes Educators (RNs and Dietitians)
- Healthy Living Program, a medically managed weight loss program supported by Dietitians and a Health Coach
- Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients and the community
- Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time
- 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult inpatients
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
**Responsibilities:**
- Outpatient clinic only; Adult patients 18+
- Clinic hours Monday Friday 8AM-5PM
- Average of 18-20 patients per day; no nights or weekends
- Shared call amongst the providers. Triaged through MyNurse
- Opportunity to work with patients with diabetes on an outpatient basis.
- Provide diabetes education and management to our patients and families
- Focus on planning, supervising treatments, and monitoring of diabetes related health concerns.
- Evaluate and treat multiple endocrine diseases.
- Work in collaboration with Diabetes Educators from an ADA Accredited Diabetes Self-Management program.
- Coordinating care of patients and working in collaboration with the patients primary care provider.
- Exercises independent judgements in the assessment, coordination, management and evaluation of certain medical processes and procedures, under the guidelines of the scope of practice and medical protocols.
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
**Qualifications:**
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
- J-1 waiver sponsorship available
