Job description

Inhospital Physicians (IHP) is looking for Emergency Medicine physicians for full-time and per diem roles at a large regional medical center in Louisiana. The hospital is a busy regional referral center with a wide range of specialists on staff, so you have strong backup in a community setting.

Job Responsibilities
You will provide emergency care to patients of all ages with a wide range of illnesses and injuries, including trauma. You will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients, order and interpret labs and imaging, and perform emergency procedures as needed. You will make admission, transfer and discharge decisions and work closely with hospitalists, intensivists, specialists and nursing staff. You will document patient encounters accurately and on time in the hospital's EMR and follow the facility's clinical protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications
Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine. Candidates need an active Louisiana medical license or the ability to get one. Louisiana is part of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, which can speed up licensing. A clean background check is required, and candidates must have no NPDB reports or licensing issues. Experience in a high-volume or trauma-capable emergency department is preferred.

What We Offer

  • Full-time and per diem options
  • Competitive compensation (details shared during your conversation with our team)
  • Malpractice coverage, including tail
  • Strong specialty backup at a large regional hospital
  • Lower cost of living and short commutes
  • A physician-led group running hospital-based programs, not a locums agency
