Position Overview
A hospital in southern Oklahoma has an ongoing need for a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician to provide overnight locum tenens coverage. This is a long-term assignment has emergency privileging looking to start in Nov/ December 2026, with full travel and expenses covered. Start date flexible!
Schedule
- Overnight coverage
- 12-14 hour shifts
- Ongoing PT coverage
- Start as soon as possible
Facility Details
- Level IV Trauma Center
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
- Rural/community setting in southern Oklahoma
Responsibilities
- Provide overnight emergency coverage, independently evaluating and treating acute medical and trauma patients
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Perform emergency procedures, including laceration repair, fracture management, IV access, airway management, and resuscitation
- Manage disposition, including admission, discharge, and transfer
- Document all encounters in Meditech Expanse
- Work closely with consultants, nursing, and ancillary staff
Required Qualifications
- ABEM or AOBEM board certified
- Active Oklahoma medical license, or willingness to obtain one
- BLS / ACLS certification
- Comfortable with overnight shifts and Level IV trauma acuity
