Higher-acuity patients are diverted by EMS to another facility when appropriate

Physician Requirements
-
5+ years of Emergency Medicine experience

Board Certification required

Acceptable Board Certifications:

ABEM/AOBEM

ABIM/AOBIM

ABFM

ACLS, ATLS & PALS required

Must have the required Tennessee license before application processing; pending licenses will not be processed
Specialty Backup Available
Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Nephrology, and Psychiatry.

Job Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries.
Manage an average volume of approximately 1.2 patients per hour.
Perform appropriate emergency medicine procedures within the physician’s scope of practice.
Order and interpret diagnostic testing, imaging, and laboratory studies.
Develop treatment plans and determine appropriate admission, discharge, transfer, or referral.
Stabilize patients requiring a higher level of care and coordinate transfers when necessary.
