Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified or truly Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Evansville, Indiana.

Must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency
-
ABEM only — ABIM and ABFM candidates cannot be considered due to facility bylaws
-
ABEM Board Eligible candidates are acceptable
-
ABPS certification is not accepted
-
Current need is primarily for night shift coverage
-
Candidates who can cover 5–7 consecutive days at a time are preferred
-
Providers must remain flexible with shift coverage based on facility needs and submitted availability
-
EMR: Epic
Primary shifts needed:

6:00 PM–3:00 AM
-
10:00 PM–7:00 AM
-
8:00 PM–6:00 AM at an additional location
The facility will utilize the locum based on coverage needs and the dates the provider is available.

The department's standard shift structure includes:

The current locum need is focused on the 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM starting shifts, with the additional dates/times listed above based on current coverage needs.
Emergency Department Details Site 1-
Level II Trauma Center

Approximately 40 emergency department rooms
-
Annual ED volume of 45,000+
-
Approximately 15–18 patients per physician per day
-
Average volume of approximately 2 patients per hour
-
Approximately 298 hospital beds
-
Typically 2–3 physicians during most hours
-
APP support available 24/7
-
Hospitalists admit patients
-
Broad subspecialty support available
-
Transfers generally limited to burns, complicated pediatric cases, and some hand cases
-
Connected to a women's hospital
-
OB coverage available
Both campuses have OB coverage. Stroke and STEMI coverage are available 24/7/365. One facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
