Join an established emergency medicine team in Frankfort, Kentucky, providing coverage in a community hospital emergency department. This long-term locums opportunity offers flexible scheduling, comprehensive support staff, and welcomes both experienced physicians and qualified new graduates.

Orientation:

• Two-day shadowing and orientation program

Schedule:

• Morning shifts
• Mid shifts

Practice Setting:

• Emergency Department

Facility Information:

• 173-bed hospital
• Non-trauma center

Patient Volume:

• Annual emergency department admissions: approximately 3,240
• Average emergency department census: 89 patients

Patient Population:

• All emergency department patients
• Community population median age: 36.9 years

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Emergency department evaluation and treatment
• Standard emergency medicine procedures
• Acute stabilization and management
• Collaboration with APPs and hospital staff
• Management of a broad range of emergency presentations

Staffing Model:

• One to two emergency physicians per shift
• Advanced practice provider support
• Dedicated nursing support

Support & Technology

Support Staff:

• Advanced practice providers
• Emergency department nursing staff
• Hospital support services

Requirements

• Board Certification – Required
• Emergency Medicine residency training – Required
• ABEM certification preferred; non-ABEM candidates with emergency medicine experience will be considered
• New graduates accepted
• Experience performing standard emergency medicine procedures required
