Permanent Position
Seeking BC/BE Cardiac Intensivist to join dedicated Cardiac Critical Care program in Rochester, New York
Position Highlights:
Dedicated Medical Cardiac ICU practice
Predictable 7-on / 7-off schedule
Collaborative multidisciplinary shock team model
Direct involvement in advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock management
Exposure to advanced mechanical circulatory support (MCS) therapies
Tertiary care cardiovascular environment with expanding cardiac critical care services
Opportunity to teach and mentor Cardiology fellows, residents, and multidisciplinary teams
Dedicated inpatient critical care responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
Manage critically ill patients with:
- Cardiogenic shock
- Acute decompensated heart failure
- Acute coronary syndromes
- Severe arrhythmias
- Hemodynamic instability and multisystem critical illness
Collaborate with Advanced Heart Failure specialists
Participate as a core member of the multidisciplinary shock response team
Manage advanced temporary and durable MCS devices including:
- Impella
- LVAD support
Supervise and teach fellows, residents, and clinical staff
Perform and supervise critical care procedures including:
- Central venous catheter placement
- Arterial line placement
- Pulmonary artery catheterization
- Intubation
- Bronchoscopy
Qualifications:
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or Emergency Medicine
Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine or combined Cardiology/Critical Care training
Active New York license or ability to obtain
Prior Cardiac ICU or Cardiothoracic ICU experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
$500,000.00 - $600,000.00
