Hospital is a rural facility offering comprehensive emergency care. The Emergency Department (ED) seeks locum physicians to join a dedicated team serving a diverse patient population.
Credentialing & Privileges:
- Credentialing timeframe: 2-3 weeks
- Temporary privileges available for emergent cases
Facility & Patient Volume:
- Annual ED volume: 11,464 visits
- ED beds: 6, plus 1 designated triage room
- Admission rate: 10%
- Trauma level: Level 4 Trauma
- Acuity level: Mixed (details available upon request)

Preference for providers that could cover dates at both facilities. See practice profiles for additional details. Must have an active PA license or IMLC with LOQ. Must be Board Certified FM/IM w/ ED experience or ED Boarded. Prefer clean malpractice history/NPDB.
*Physicians who are boarded in Emergency Medicine are not required to provide BLS, ACLS, PALS or ATLS certification.*
- MD coverage: 24 hours/day (two 12-hour shifts: 7AM-7PM and 7PM-7AM)
- APP coverage (PA/NP): None
- Patients per hour:
- 7AM-3PM: 15-20
- 3PM-11PM: 15-25
- 11PM-7AM: 5-8
- Fast track: None
- Scribes: None
Support Services:
- Hospitalist program: Yes
- Admitting orders: Handled by admitting physician
- ED physician responds to all codes
Technology:
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Certification Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association
- Must have an active PA license only
- Must be Board Certified FM/IM w/ ED experience or ED Boarded.
- Prefer clean malpractice history/NPDB.
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification through the American College of Surgeons
- Current Medical Command Physician certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal locum physician will be adaptable, comfortable working in a rural setting, and possess all required certifications. Experience with EPIC EMR and rural emergency medicine is preferred.
