Job Requirements

• Board Certified – ABEM preferred, or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Iowa medical license required (or eligibility for expedited state licensure)
• At least 1 year of Emergency Medicine clinical experience required
• Clean malpractice and background record; self-query NPDB pulled within the month
• Current BLS; ACLS and PALS preferred where applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care in a 3-bed Emergency Department as the ED physician
• Triage, evaluate, stabilize, and treat a diverse rural patient population
• Manage inpatient responsibilities for a 20-bed medical-surgical department (observation, acute, swing-bed)
• Coordinate patient care with nursing staff and ancillary services (approx. 2 RNs and 1 CNA per provider)
• Utilize diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, and outpatient services to support clinical decision-making
• Document accurately in TogetherCare (Epic) and participate in quality and patient safety initiatives
