• Shift: 12-hour nights (7p–7a) — solo ER coverage with 2 mid-levels
• Dates Needed: June 6, 7, and 9, 2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 – $7,280 (competitive locum pay)
• Annual Patient Volume: 32,000; Daily Volume: 90–100
• Patient Load: ~18–20 patients per shift
• EMR: Meditech 6.1
• Travel: Costs capped at $500; hospital-owned apartments provided
• Credentialing: Estimated 14 days

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• MD required; Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (EM Physician)
• NC Medicaid credentialed and enrolled in PECOS (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience; locum tenens or solo coverage experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency department and manage critical/acute care
• Fellowship preferred but not required
• Current DEA and state licensure (or ability to obtain) for North Carolina
• BLS/ACLS required

Responsibilities

• Provide solo coverage in the Emergency Department during 12-hour night shifts
• Evaluate and manage 18–20 patients per shift across a wide acuity range
• Collaborate with mid-level providers, nursing staff, and hospital specialists
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, general surgery, radiology, and orthopedic services
• Document clinical encounters using Meditech 6.1 EMR
• Deliver timely, high-quality, and compassionate emergency care to a diverse patient population
