Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of emergency medicine clinical experience
- Active Arkansas medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Current certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, and DEA registration
- Clean malpractice history and recent self-query NPDB report (within 30 days of application)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced ED with diverse patient populations (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a busy Level II Trauma Center
- Manage an average of 1.8 patients per hour while prioritizing critical care and patient flow
- Perform emergency procedures: reductions, cardioversion, moderate sedation, laceration repair, chest tube placement, intubation, central line placement, traumatic injury management
- Interpret EKGs and manage acute cardiac presentations in collaboration with regional cath lab/cardiology
- Document clinical care using EPIC EMR and Dragon dictation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including general surgery, GI, neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, nephrology, cardiology, and urology
- Work alongside trauma-trained nursing staff (ACLS, PALS certified) and participate in orientation and ongoing training as needed
