Position:

• Specialty: Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
  • Location: Hot Springs, Arkansas
  • Setting: Emergency Department
  • Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
  • Additional Designation: Regional Cardiac Center
  • Start Date: May 1
  • Duration: 12-month locum assignment
  • Shifts: Approximately 30 shifts per month
  • Patient Volume: ~1.8 patients per hour
  • EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
  • Support Staff:
  – Specialty backup including General Surgery, GI, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Nephrology, Cardiology/Cath Lab, and Urology
  – Trauma-trained nursing staff with ACLS and PALS
  • Team Environment: Physicians work collaboratively and routinely assist with complex or high-acuity cases
  • Scope of Practice: Full-spectrum emergency medicine across all ages (pediatric through geriatric)

Requirements:

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
  • Active Arkansas medical license — required
  • ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS — required
  • Active DEA — required
  • Clean malpractice history — required
  • Required procedural skills include (but are not limited to):
  – Reductions
  – Cardioversions
  – Moderate sedation
  – Laceration repair
  – Chest tubes
  – Intubations
  – Central lines
  – Trauma management
  – EKG interpretation
  • NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation — required
