We are seeking dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physicians for a dynamic locums opportunity at a community hospital in Carlisle, PA. This role offers a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population and strong clinical support.
🔹 Practice Setting: Hospital-based Emergency Department
🔹 Shift Type: 24-hour in-house coverage (Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
🔹 Schedule: PRN / Full-time coverage needed
🔹 Patient Volume: 25–30 patients per day
🔹 Facility Details:
- 10-bed Emergency Department
- 10 inpatient beds
- CT & imaging services available
👶👩🦳 Patient Population: All ages – Neonates to Geriatrics
👨⚕️ Support Staff: Physicians, APPs, Nurses & Technicians
💻 EMR System: Epic
Job Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour in-house emergency care to patients of all age groups (neonates to geriatrics)
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and urgent medical conditions
Handle an average of 25–30 patients per day in a fast-paced ED setting
Perform necessary emergency procedures and interventions
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and support staff for patient care
Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentation
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and adherence to clinical protocols
Qualifications
BC/BE in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine
Active Pennsylvania Medical License
DEA Certification
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medicine experience
Experience with Epic EMR preferred
Working Hours
24-hour in-house shifts
Night shift typically 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
PRN / flexible scheduling with full-time coverage needs
Skills
Strong clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations
Expertise in emergency care & acute patient management
Proficiency in performing emergency procedures
Ability to handle diverse patient populations (all age groups)
Effective communication & teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
Experience with Epic EMR documentation
Excellent time management & multitasking skills
